How to body paint animals – Pink Pussycat / lioness

I body painted model Allison as a Pink Lioness / pussycat at a love and romance convention on stage in front of hundreds of event goers.
Duration: 90 minutes
Paints: Snazaroo pucks
Airbrush: Iwata RG6
Brushes: Synthetic
I used Snazaroo brand puck paints and painted most of Allison’s body with a synthetic, 4 inch wide flat brush.
It took fifteen to twenty minutes to brush the pink makeup paint onto Allison, leaving her face, her forearms and her calves bare for the other colors.
With Allison’s body painted pink and her chest and upper pelvis painted white, then some tiger lines were painted on using black paint. They were done by using a #3 flat brush and rendered by using spinning the brush and using it on its thin side and then mid-line, spinning the brush using the full width and then again spinning it to use the thin side.
Once the tiger lines were don on some of Allison, I switched to painting her legs white to keep the audience’s attention, instead of painting one color for long.
I painted pink carefully around her lips and applied black to her nose to make the animal snout. I paint into the nostrils with black as well somewhat so that at different angles, viewers will not see skin from inside the nostrils, which is something that really bugs me. Allison also had a LIPS temp tattoo that she wanted to keep and so I painted carefully around her temp tattoo as well.
I could tell from the audience’s reaction that after painting Allison for thirty minutes or so they were unsure of where I was going with the painting which is why I decided to begin finishing her face now. White paint is applied along her jawline and on her eyelids up to her eyebrows.
A few photo frames of some painting stages are missing and I apologize for that. I painted white on her jawline and softly brushed it out using a edge of a sponge. The white on her snout is based on her laugh lines and cheek bones are. Her eyelids and eye sockets are also softened with white and then outlined with some black. The teeth always should begin on the lips and then drop down at the far edges of both sides of the mouth to create the illusion but in this case because of Allison’s lipstick, I had to paint from the lipstick downwards.

Once her face was painted, everyone knew what she was or at least what she was becoming and so I switched to painting her legs and forearms.

The client who paid for this was Fantasia.
The order of paints that I applied were not applied according to the order that I would prefer but rather applied to appeal to the audience watching. Too much of one color and doing one thing gets boring and tedious to watch.
Her stripes were applied using a #3 flat synthetic brush painting with the thin side of the brush and then mid-line spinning the brush in the hand to begin applying the full width of the brush for a distance and then spinning the brush again to get the thin side.
